A superb weekend on Surflines (Llanberris) "Introduction to Sea Kayaking"
course.
Saturday:
Spent the day at Borth Wen learning skills to enable you to edge, turn and
stay in a 17ft kayak. (Didn't initially work for me as I fell out !!)
Followed by some rock hopping round the edge of the shore and a paddle out
to a small rocky island to see the seals, birds etc and back again.
Sunday:
A drive to the north coast to Bull Bay and a one way inshore trip along the
coastline to Porth Wen
including a couple of, for me, "nervy" tidal races around the headlands
with another capsize 3 minutes after starting out !!.
Excellent Instruction + Sun + Scenery + Wild life = An unforgetable
weekend............Brilliant
